Clean Energy must be essential to us as a community, individual citizens, and residents mainly because zip codes 30310, 11, 18, and 31 spend 9-11% of their income on utilities, whereas 30309 and 24 pay only 4% of their income for the same. But mostly because we the people must begin to frame ideas about climate change and clean energy. Atlanta has made a commitment to clean energy by 2035 and funding has been put in place to help homeowners retrofit and insulate homes built before the 1970s are the most vulnerable and in mostly black communities.
Let’s start by getting to know our Public Service Commissioners CEAB SAC Post (the PSC), who all happen to be Republicans. These guys and gal determine how much we pay for water gas, electricity and insurance also their campaigns are funded by Georgia Power The Southern Company and that is not good. As a community, this is not good. Even worse is that these positions are rarely voted on by the masses because they are at the bottom of the ballot. So read and let’s discuss these very important positions that weigh, heavily on our income.
